What?
The PanAmerican Society of Pigment Cell Research (PASPCR) will be offering aunique meeting opportunity this year. In advance of their 2015 scientific Conference:“Advances In Vitiligo Research And Care,”the PASPCR in collaboration with theVitiligo Working Group and Vitiligo Support International areoffering a “Vitiligo Pre-Meeting” tobring vitiligo patients, their doctors, and some people who specialize invitiligo research together in one place.
When and where? The Vitiligo Pre-Meeting will be held at the Doubletree Hotel inOrange, CA, on Sunday September 27, 2015, with an optional dinner/social theevening before, on Saturday September 26.
Conference day will begin with a breakfast at 8 a.m., and will conclude ataround 2:00 that afternoon.
Who are the Speakers?
The committee will have quite a few speakers to choose frombut will not select the final program untilall of the speaker presentati** have been submitted. We will update theprogram as we go along, but everyone signing this invitation letter below will forsure be there.
Can patients get together for dinner?
If you are coming from out of town and are able to arrive by 7:00 p.m.on Saturday (9/26), we encourage you to participate in a vitiligo social dinnerat Dave and Busters, which is within walking distance from the hotel.
Note that food and drink expenses forthis social event are not covered by the conference registration fees,however we must have an accurate headcount for the restaurant reservation, sothose wishing to participate need to indicate their attendance on theconference registration.
How much does the conference cost?
Thanks in part to conference grants offered by the Vitiligo WorkingGroup and UC Irvine Dermatology to offset meeting costs, registration is only$80.00. The $80 fee covers the meeting facility, breakfast, and lunch, aswell as presentati** and forum discussion by experts in vitiligo research andtreatment. Seating is limited, so wesuggest that you plan ahead and sign up as soon as possible
How do I register for the meeting?
You canregister and pay online. You will noticethat the website also includes scientific information about skin pigmentation, don’tworry, you are in the right place! Select thefirst option “Vitiligo Pre-Meeting”, If you wouldlike to reserve a space to attend the Saturday evening social and dinner- thenyou need to also select the secondoption “Vitiligo social self pay.” Complete the form (patientsmay disregard “Institution” and “Department” fields) At the bottom,select ‘send registration.’ Once yourregistration is successfully submitted you will receive an email confirmation. Payment: Once the payment section has been completed/submitted,your online registration will be complete. If you are not automaticallydirected to the Payment page, then: Select “Registration vitiligo pre-meeting” (US$ 80) Once you have completed the paymentprocess your seat will be reserved! Each attendee must sign and date a ConferenceLiability Waiver and Photo release upon arrival.
How do I arrange my travel and overnight stay?
To reserve ahotel room at the discounted meeting rate,from the menu on the left, select Accommodation. This page alsoincludes information regarding specialconference rates for airport shuttles. If you are flying in, you can choose from multipleairports · John Wayne Airport, OrangeCounty (SNA) · Long Beach Airport (LGB) · Ontario International (ONT) · Los Angeles InternationalAirport (LAX) Long Beach andJohn Wayne airports are the two closest to the Hotel (around 14 miles)
Long Beach is to the west; John Wayne is to the south. ONT is a coupleof miles closer than LAX, (30 miles, and 33 miles) but LAX has many moreairlines and flights, as well as more airport transfer opti** If you arecoming by car, hotel parking will be $7. Is there anything fun to doin Orange, CA if I have some extra time? Disneyland isjust 2 miles away, and Doubletree offers FreeShuttle service to the park. You can also order and print online Disneylandtickets from the Doubletree website Doubletree- Disney Tickets= You can go shopping at the Outlets at Orange withmore than 100 restaurants and shops, just next to the hotel. Otherwise, take acar or public transportation to enjoy the coastline with beautiful beaches(remember to take sunscreen), or to Universal Studios (within 40 miles).
